Looking for a Logo Designer

Reply with quote I'm looking for someone to design a logo for my new business venture. I'll be a Sole Trader offering:

  • Accessible Web Design
  • Website Accessibility Auditing
  • Accessibility Training to users of AT - predominantly JAWS

The logo needs to be:

  • describable by one person to another
  • memorable
  • not rely on colour alone (print well in black and white or grayscale)
  • highly scalable, so that it can be used at a variety of sizes (e.g. one inch - pens, etc - as smallest to the largest - calendars, posters, etc.)
  • appropriate
  • usable for different mediums (e.g. Web page, letterhead, business card, advertising gimmicks - pens, etc and just about anything else you can think of!

I'm still playing around with things like colour schemes and such, so I'm very open to your ideas.

Finally, the full copyrights will be handed to over to me as part of the contract process.

Too demanding for you - or is it right up your street?

Please feel free to contact me via PM to discuss prices, etc. Replies regarding general information can be posted here...so that everyone gets to see the full picture! Smile
Reply with quote Some stuff to get ideas working:

  • What are you thinking of calling the business?
  • Sum up the most unique or appealing aspects of your approach and attitude in three words.
  • If you were a customer of, say, a hotel or restaurant, would you prefer to conduct transactions and be taken care of with a) simplicity and speed, b) forethought and comprehensiveness, or b) elaborate care and minute attention to detail?

Hmm..nice one Jordan - thanks! Smile

Name of Business: Accessible Web & Training Services (AWTS)
AWTS - but there's only a holding page up at the moment from my old business name, working like mad on the new site!

Three words: courteous, friendly & professional

As a customer, I appreciate: forethought and comprehensiveness.

and some more stuff...

  • if you've already got a colour scheme, what is it?
  • if not, are you prepared to adapt your site's colour scheme to suit the logo? (as you don't want horrible clashes)
  • If anyone suggests anything using a spider's web, slap 'em.
Reply with quote Hi,
Have you tried http://www.crowdspring.com/ ?

I have designed a few logos on there, although I mainly stick to website design. payment is by paypal, post a brief, you can link to your website and other logos you like etc, and then all the designers on crowdspring may submit a design. You can then rate the design, give feedback on improvements etc, and when the project time is up you choose the one you like the best. I think a projects gets an average of 70 submissions or something like that.

Jack,

I don't have a colour scheme in mind yet, I'm completely open to suggestions for both the logo and the site.
If I thought of a scheme and implemented it, if I liked the logo then yes - I would adapt the site scheme to fit in with the logo.

Thanks Jack, you've given me some things to mull over.

Linda, thanks for the tip...I'll check it out.

If anyone suggested a spider's web they'd get a lot more than a slap!! Wink Smile Smile

Thanks Linda, I was trying to remember the name of that site... also a great place for inspiration.
