508 Compliant display ads?

Reply with quote I have a client requesting we deliver 508 compliant display ads. I have never received a request like this and can't seem to find any information regarding this ANYWHERE.

Has anyone out there ever received this type of request? Is it even possible? Wouldn't 508 compliance require the collaboration of the publishers on which these ads are placed, the firm trafficking the creative, and the creative agency developing the ads?
Reply with quote You would look at it the same way as any other content. It really depends what kind of ads you need to display, but you can just assess the ads for Section 508 purposes. For example, image banner ads would not be compliant, as the information does not appear in a text alternative format. But text links, for example, could be suitable for 508 purposes.

Reply with quote Contrasting colours between text and background would be a factor, as would the size and style of the text.

You could use images so long as you have alt text.

Are these adverts for the Web, billboards, magazines...?
