Which standard?
Hi folks, I'm just about to start work on redevelopment of a very large web site. The site currently conforms to WCAG 1.0 Priority 2. However, in light of WCAG 2.0 and with BS8878 now live, I am reviewing what level of conformance the new site should achieve.
As far as I'm aware there are a number of variations available to us:
I am tempted to recommend we work towards "BS8878 & WCAG 1.0 Samurai Errata" although "BS8878 & WCAG 2.0" is the route recommended by AbilityNet & the BS8878 committee.
I would be very interested to hear any thoughts you might have on the above.
Thank you.

- I know it's early days, but does anyone have any experience implementing WCAG 2.0 alongside BS8878?
Has anyone used the Samurai Errata in a professional environment?
I would be very interested to hear any thoughts you might have on the above.
Thank you.
Well, I must say I'm disappointed there have been no replies, I thought this was a discussion forum!
Let me rephrase the question:
If someone came to you and asked which guideline they should conform to (WCAG 2 / Samurai Errata) which one would you recommend and why.
Please, if you have any guidance I would welcome it.
Cheers.

Hi,
I would work to WCAG 2.0 - that is the most current standard. Do you have a particular reason for preferring WCAG 1.0 with the Samurai Errata?

Thanks for replying James. Its not a preference as such. For me its about the end product and how we get there.
There was a concensus of opinion at the lauch of the Errata that they were a far superior set of guidelines to WCAG 2. There have been many articles about WCAG 2.0 and indeed the WCAG working group and I wanted to guage how many accessiblity advocates, the people who use this forum, had adopted the Samurai Errata.
Must admit though, I am surprised there haven't been more replies to this post.
I am in contact with AblityNet and they have been brilliant. For the record they have recommened we adopt WCAG 2 with BS 8878.
Cheers.
