Hello, I'm me
My name is Michael.
My primary reason for being here, I am a web programmer who is sick and tired of fixing other people's bugs for dirt pay (hasn't paid well since the dot.com crash in 2001) and I am finally working on my own product to hopefully eventually allow me to live comfortably fixing my own bugs instead of other people's bugs.
What I am developing is a Content Management System, and it is extremely important to me for it to be properly accessible. I don't want people who end up using the CMS to have to think about how to make their content accessible, I want them to think about writing quality content and have it be properly accessible with little or no effort on their part.
By proper accessibility, I don't just mean the right wai-aria tags. I mean accessibility that actually works, what is actually implemented and beneficial to users who have a disability that impacts their use of a web browser.
That's my vision, well, one of the aspects I really hope to integrate into the system.
I do not at this point know very much about proper accessibility, and I am finding out that many practices I thought were the right thing to do are not the right thing to do - such as the title tag, turns out it often is not nearly as beneficial as led to believe and that there often are better ways to solve the problem.
I am primarily going to lurk here and read discussions. I may on occasion ask questions, but I thought I should at least say hi.

Hi Michael, welcome to the forum.
Great to hear that you're thinking about accessibility for your CMS - it's all too often overlooked.
Can I suggest you check out the Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG), if you haven't already? These cover not only making the end result accessible, but also designed an accessible back-end.
Do feel free to ask questions - we'll do our best to help
