IE9 displays styles for an element outside of the class

Reply with quote This page works fine in both Chrome and Firefox. However, in IE9, the letter immediately behind the .drop_cap class is being displayed with the .drop_cap styles as well. It's actually OUTSIDE of the <span class="drop_cap"></span>.

Is this a documented error? If so, what can I do to fix it cause' it really looks weird and ugly.

Any ideas? Thanks!
