Reply with quote I've seen a few disparaging comments about how slow this forum is and how long it takes for users to respond to requests for help/support.

To you all I say: Over the past few weeks I've had reason to submit help requests to various forums. To date, I've not received a single reply.

The users of this forum may take time to answer your queries. But please realise that most of the frequent members are professionals with a heavy working day, plus many of them have family to consider.

Be patient, we are all here to help.

And if you still think it takes too long to get an answer to a query, try:

1. Contacting the accessibility team at Opera.
2. Submitting an accessibility bug to the Apple team responsible for Safari for Windows.
3. Navigating and successfully posting a request for help at the many-tentacled monster that is Google Help.

As my mother used to say: "You don't know you've been born."

This forum provides, in my view, the fastest response time to a request that I've seen yet. And no, I (or any of the frequent users/mods/admin) get paid for this. We are simply volunteers trying to make the web a better place for all.

So, next time you feel frustrated that you haven't received an answer to your query within 2 minutes - please remember what I've just said.

Thank you.

Reply with quote Faster is better, for sure. But getting the expert answers available here from professionals working on accessibility every day at all is remarkable. And they are given away for free! Can't say fairer than that. Smile

Perhaps more valuable than the technical support is the moral support. Accessibility and usability are still either unknown or viewed as a costly obstacle in mainstream website development! Coming here and seeing so many developers, managers and amateurs all interested in accessibility offers great peace of mind.

This forum affirms those doing good in the ICT industry and empowers them to do it more. That is how we are slowly bringing about change, putting to rest one of the world's oldest social injustices.
