Reply with quote Hi,
Do you know if there are places where 'A level' accessibility (or higher) is mandatory by law? where? what level is required?
Reply with quote Section 508 compliance is mandatory for government organizations in the States, and is the only mandatory standard I know of. You may find this comparison of it to WCAG useful.

Welcome to Accessify.
Reply with quote WebAIM has an article that looks at world laws, but it's possibly a bit old.

Reply with quote Variation on a theme here, but does anyone know of any country specific guidelines which are in use? I've been able to find some government guidelines for a few countries (Sweden, Ireland, Canada - confined to public sector websites) but wondered if anyone knew of any others.

Thanks in advance.
Reply with quote This link seems useful too: Is website accessibility mandated in some countries?

[link text modified to be descriptive - admin]
Reply with quote You can start with Section 508 of the United States.
I also put together a couple of relevant articles:
Accessibility in Japan
Accessibility in the Philippines
Web accessibility in Korea

I hope this helps!
