List of free PDF accessibility tools

Reply with quote Hi,
I am new to accessibility testing. I want to know whether there are any free online or downloadable tools for checking the pdf accessibilty. Also are there any free PDF writers where we can edit the tags and give comments?

Thank,
Aruna
Reply with quote Interesting question, I’m looking forward to the answer.

Although my organisation are also trying to make PDF accessible, but as keep trying to tell them some PDFs are almost impossible to make completely accessible and the amount of time trying to achieve it could probably half if it was just recreated in HTML. So I would suggestion just making sure if its worth the hassle of making the PDFs accessible.

Why do people love PDFs?
Reply with quote Hi

I have just come across this tool http://www.access-for-all.ch/en/pdf-werkstatt/pac-pdf-accessibility-checker.html havent tried it yet. If you try it let me know what you think

Cheers

Reply with quote Correct me if I'm wrong. If you're looking fo a pdf creator I use open office.org. It is free and useful for alot of stuff. I mainly use it for turning my word docs into pdfs.
