Fall Forum 2011: A Home for All Americans September 26, 2011
National Association of Home Builders
1201 15th St. NW
Washington, DC 20005
Housing is a critically important program and service area for people with disabilities, which includes the enlarging universe of the "baby boom" generation. With advances in design, technology and building systems that can integrate new features quickly and efficiently, improvements are available and can be included in home construction and renovation more easily and at a lower cost than ever before. The need for improvements and enhancements for people with disabilities is immediate and profound: estimate of the number of people with disabilities in 2020 run as high as one-in-ten.
A Home for All Americans will bring together leaders involved in architecture, design, construction and technology, as well as leaders in the disability field, to explore available and emerging technologies, design options and building methods.
A comprehensive program of panel discussions and speakers will be followed by a cocktail reception to encourage further discussion and networking. A Home for All Americans will kick off a year of partnerships and study around ways to promote universal design to increase accessibility in housing for all Americans.
To RSVP, email rsvp@ucp.org
If you are unable to attend, A Home for All Americans will be webcast live starting at 6:30 p.m. on www.ucp.org
