I am wondering if anyone can speak to how they handle tagging superscript and subscript font in PDFs?

Is the standard to provide alternative text for superscript/subscript? For example, if you had a footnote in a table, do you provide alt text saying, "Footnote X?"

Does anyone have ideas on other ways to handle superscript/subscript text?
