Fangs vs. Text Readers

Just wondering how close the two are in the area of rendering, say Lynx and Fangs, et. al.
I use some § and ¶ leades to my titles on block elements. This is a beautiful thing, on Fangs anyway, because both are rendered as the symbols they are (the reader doesn't show them as § or as ¶) so, at least in Fangs, it offers a really nice separation of, well, my sections and paragraphs. I was wondering if this would hold true in other text readers as well. If it is, then this is a really cool and helpful thing.
Thanks.

ok, let's start: lynx is not a text reader, it's a text only browser. on its own, it reads nothing (no voice output or anything). you can download lynx and run it yourself to have a look at what its output is http://lynx.isc.org/release/

visual rendering is irrelevant. with screen readers, it's important what is actually voiced by the speech engine - which also depends on the exact screen reader and user settings (verbosity etc).

I did follow the Lynx link. I see it's unlike most downloadable software and seems to be a very involved installation. In light of this, I'm making a new request, in addition to that made on my other post looking for Jaws help which is: If someone has these installed already to please let me know and I'll PM my url for a look-see and brief crit if anyone's willing to take the time. I'm just not ready to widely distribute the url, even on this board, as not all content pages are done, (plus I still have six more style sheets to modify).
Thank you.

Mike,
A version of Lynx found here;
http://csant.info/lynx
Comes as a .exe installer.
If it's any use to you.

| Glad the link was of some use to you. Typing '?' (without quotes) into the Lynx browser will also bring up all the supplied documentation including a user guide and a key stroke command guide. |
You bet it was whitingx. Thanks man. I did see that '?' at the bottom (and I did opt to download all of the docs). There was a just a lot to go through.
