In addition to his offer of a double guest room DotJay could always take up a spot in the bathroom to recreate that @media feeling

| Crikey - that was nearly 9 years ago. You can do the maths. |
My good grief Jon, to put it in crude maths form,
if J=X M=(Xx2)+282d work out the value of M and the date in dd/mm/yy terms

*thinks*
*head explodes*
(I hated maths at school - spent as much time as I could in the music department)

J = 25 on 5th November 2005. (on basis 16 was 'nearly' 9 years ago, and we know birth day is 5th Nov).Therefore 24 now.
J therefore = 05/11/80.
I can read the rest of the equation one of three ways
X = 24
X = 24 years + 320 days
X = 25 (unlikely option as technically inaccurate, even though accurate to the nearest year)
M therefore is either
48 + 282 days = birth 13/12/56
48 + 922 days = birth 14/03/55
50 + 282 days = birth 13/12/54
are any of these right?
Note to those people I'm trying to persuade out for a drink : this isn't my idea of fun, btw. Think I could probably do with a drink myself at this point...

oooh, now I'm confused.
where have I gone wrong with my equation, then - what value of X are you using?

Oh dear! What have I started?!
I was good at Maths, but I still spent most of my time in the Music practice rooms. At uni I unlearned everything I knew in A-Level Maths.

Unless I got it wrong
you should have worked out that on November 5th I would be 50 years 282 days young. Born 27.01.55. Mind you I had to work it out without Excel

ah, I see the problem. I was calculating your age on the assumption you satisfied that formula TODAY.

where in Manchester is it going to be? near Picadilly or Oxfrod St train stations might be good for me
If given enough notice I may even be able to get baby sitters sorted!
my mind is on a permanent tangent

Yeah, getting back to the point, what rail station would you advise us to arrive at, what time are we kicking off, and are there any reasonably priced Travelodges or the equivalent in the vicinity?

Little me votes for arrive/meet at/near Picadilly. Two reasons:
1) Victoria isn't accessible from Sheffield without going to Picadilly first
2) Oxford Road is decidedly non disabled access (my wheels might have a problem with the stairs - funny
, but probably painful
)
Accessibility != Bobby

I'm going to be flying in (same price, quarter of the time of the train) and I think the train goes to Picadilly from the airport (?), so I'm with vigo.

Seems like Piccadilly is better for Londonish trains too, so add another vote for that, although accessibility trumps everything else.
ok, meet at piccadilly, and looking for a suitably large pub/venue with wireless access. in the worst case, we take over a starbucks
