Drupal and XStandard
Heya
Do you guys know if anyone has created a Drupal XStandard module?
Just looking into the WYSIWYG editors in Drupal and not having much luck at finding a good one.
cheers

I've used the TinyMCE module with Drupal which is so-so, but easily installed.
There are discussions on XStandard integration over at Drupal, but it seems that no-one has actually written a module to install.
XStandard integration
but it's not open source

I'd be happy to write a module if someone put up a bounty. I simply don't have the time, with all my free-to-community projects I've got going to do it for nothing.
There was a discussion on the drupal developers mailing list in the last few days that ended with the conclusion that as long as non-GPL code wasn't being brought into Drupal itself then wrappers or modules to allow interface with commerical or otherwise restricted-use code was acceptable.
Accessibility != Bobby

I've tried TinyMCE, but have been seriously unimpressed with the level of code it produces. I was hoping that x-standard might output something of a higher quality.
Well - this is at least promising. I am surprised it hasn't been done already, but I guess if they've only just decided that it's okay then it becomes a little more understandable.
Thanks for your replies guys!

I've written a module that integrates XStandard with Drupal. It's just a developer snapshot at this point, but if you guys can test it and provide feedback that would be superb.

Do you still need testing done, henrrrik?

More testing is always welcome.
I'm anxious to get version 1.0 for Drupal 5 out the door soon since many people are hesitant to use a 1.x-dev version on their site (and rightly so). It's hard to tell when the code is mature enough though. People seldom take the time to tell you that something's working fine...

I've finally decided to release version 1.0 for Drupal 5 and version 1.0beta1 for the upcoming Drupal 6. Check them out here.
